The drivers did not allow me to print consistently from 10.5.8 on an Intel Mac Pro. My solution was to activate the print server on an Xserve running the Tiger server version of OS X, install the Xante driver there (since it was designed to run on that version of the OS), and now my newer macs can use the printer without issue. OpenPrinting Printers Xante PlateMaker 4 Xante PlateMaker 4: Black & White printer, max. The following driver(s) are known to drive this printer. The only thing I have found, and it doesn't necessarily relate to PM4 printer, is that the driver needs a certificate. I did get the PM4 to print but only using the PM3 driver and setting up the TCP/IP. Since I am using the PM3 drivers I still have the yellow exclamation mark on the plates I would like to print to i.e.
